Dear New Member of PVC High School Ministry…

We're really excited that you are considering being a part of our High School Ministry. We have a whole load of fun activities planned… as well as the regular events. We hope that you feel immediately welcome. You are already part of our ministry!

Here are a few things you might want to think about: First, our mission statement… “Our mission is to lead High School students who are far from God to a life of total commitment to Jesus Christ.” – This means that we want anyone and everyone who is in high school to come and join us as we learn how to live as radical, sold-out followers of Jesus Christ! Our doors are wide open. Please bring all of your friends – it doesn’t matter if they are Christians or Buddhists or Atheists – they are welcome to join us.

The second thing is our five purposes. The Five Purposes of PVC High School Ministry are…

1. “Reaching” – (Reaching is what we do to reach out to people and invite them to get to know God. Once a month we have “The Brink” which is designed for you to bring your “unchurched” friends to it without you having to feel embarrassed.)

2. “Worshipping” – (Worshipping really means “surrendering” our lives every moment of every day to God – we get together weekly at “Pitstop” to sing and share and pray so that we can live lives of total worship to God.)

3. “Learning” – (Learning is a big part of being a Christian – We want to be challenged to think deeply and not just believe things we don’t understand. We try to challenge people through classes we offer and weekly at Sabbath School.)

4. “Belonging” – (Belonging is so important! We want everyone to feel like they belong so we try to get everyone into a “House Group,” which is sort of like a mini-family of high school students. House Groups meet every Friday night.)

5. “Serving” – (Serving is fun and fulfilling. We do “Pipeline” every couple of months – it’s a local mission trip. We also try to learn what our Spiritual Gifts are so that we can use them to build our ministry stronger.)

You’ll hear us talk a lot about these things, so there's a head start on knowing what we are talking about.

You're welcome to contact our Youth Pastor,
Stephen Lundquist.
