IT'S
TIME TO "STEP UP AND SERVE" AT PVC!
PVC's
Ministry Search Committee is working with ministry and department leaders to
fill church offices for the upcoming new church year (starts Oct. 1). In
this "issue" of PVC-Mail, we'll be highlighting a few ministry
positions that have openings and may be of interest to you:
Foyer
Ministries Scheduler/Coordinator
- Creates schedule
for Foyer Ministries (Greeters) and helps facilitate/coordinate Foyer
Ministries functions.
Deaconness Scheduler/Coordinator
- Creates
schedule for Deaconesses and helps facilitate/coordinate Deaconess functions.
- Serves
during worship approximately once every 6 - 8 weeks.
Worship
Coordinators
- Serves
behind the scene.
- Contacts
each member of the worship team to determine responsibilities and any changes
or needs.
- Ten
minutes before each service, walk through the order of service and transitions
with the worship team. Offer prayer for
those serving and members/guests attending.
Photography
- Work with
Media/PR representative and the various ministries leaders to capture the
church activities in pictures and video.
- May also
be involved with photographing new members to help other church members get to
know them and welcome them into our church family.
Host/Hostess
for Potlucks
- Organize
and serve church potluck meals (all church potlucks are scheduled for the 2nd
& 4th Sabbaths of each month)
- Help
encourage fellowship and acceptance of guests and new members
Multimedia
Team Members
- Provides
multimedia support to the various church programs and activities – including
song services/Powerpoint presentation and DVD
support, videotaping when requested, as well as satellite download programming
and presentation.
- Works
closely with the Audio team to coordinate technical support for the worship
services and programs

serve"? (For example, you'd like to be a deacon, but you don't know
the ministry description of what PVC's deacons do.) Give us a call and we'll answer your questions.

preparation for the Out of Thin Air
satellite series with Shawn Boonstra in September,
the Oregon Conference is placing 26 billboard advertisements around the
Portland-Vancouver area. Please pray that the Lord will place these
advertisements in the best possible locations to maximize their effectiveness.

Why: Those within your congregation likely know
someone who has been effected by breast cancer. Here is a chance to raise
awareness and help
find a cure. Members, family, and friends are urged to join Team
Adventist. Those who register will receive a free race day shirt, free
bus shuttle to the downtown event, free food, giveaways and exercise
opportunities in a festive atmosphere.
Events: Choose between the 5k run, 5K walk,1-mile
Co-Ed walk, or Sleep In For The Cure.

Young Adult Retreat 2007 (
We know from personal
experience that young adults value friendship
and togetherness. With this in mind
the Oregon Conference has designed a retreat experience to provide a weekend of friendship at Big Lake Youth
Camp. This will be a time to connect with friends and to create new
friendships in the context of growing your relationship with Jesus.

Beginning
in 2007 a bank record or receipt from the charity is required documentation for
all cash contribution deductions, no
matter how small. A cancelled check or a notation on a credit card statement
will qualify as a bank record. A receipt from the charity must include the date
and amount of the donation along with the name of the organization. A log of

THE ADVENTIST HEALTH STUDY
STILL NEEDS MORE PARTICIPANTS and it's not too late for church members to return their questionnaires.
If someone has lost their questionnaire, they can be sent replacements in the

Missionaries of the Blind (MOB) connects sighted people with blind persons in
their community in order to build friendships with them, minister to their
